Networking Technology

At BrokenBungee, we go to extreme lengths to ensure that your network is not only capable of using current technologies, but is future-proof as well. You can rest assured knowing that every component we use has been carefully selected to provide future compatability.

IPv6

IPv6

Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) is the replacement for the current standard, IPv4. Though IPv4 provides approximately 4.3 billion internet addresses, the protocol is rapidly approaching complete exhaustion; in comparison, IPv6 will allow approximately 3.4 x 1038 addresses - a significant increase.

At BrokenBungee, we ensure that every new networking device supports the IPv6 protocol.

GbE

Gigabit

Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) is a relatively modern term describing the technologies used to transmit network data at a rate up to 1 gigabit per second. In comparison, GbE replaced Fast Ethernet, which had a transmission rate of nearly 1/10th GbE.

Despite the obvious advantages of GbE, many networking components sold today do not yet support this standard.

Cat6

Cat6

The vast majority of ethernet cables sold today are of the Category 5e standard, which supports Gigabit Ethernet. At BrokenBungee, we plan ahead. Every cable that we use is of the Category 6 (Cat6) standard, and supports tranmission rates up to 10 Gigabit. Though most networking equipment doesn't yet support this standard, someday it will, and we want our clients to be ready to take advantage of it.

SATA R3

SATA 3rd Generation

With each workstation we build, we carefully choose components that use 3rd Generation SATA connections with transfers rates of up to 6 Gb/s. Despite the availability of this technology, many motherboards still fail to support it.

Web Technology

BrokenBungee LLC is proud to have a plethora of web technologies under our belt. We're always trying to discover the "next big thing" and find ways to incorporate it into our clients websites. Take a look below to see some of the skills we've already acquired.

We're at the cutting edge of website development and that's the way we like it.

XHTML

XHTML and CSS

XHTML stands for Extensible Hypertext Markup Language and it is the language used to display every webpage you visit. It is the backbone of the internet, and, as such, it is important that developers are experts in it.

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is the markup used to stylize most websites. In order to be a quality developer, one must also be an expert with CSS.

PHP

PHP

PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor is a powerful Open Source programming language used to develop dynamic content within webpages. PHP is the direct competitor to the popular proprietary language ASP.NET.

PHP is a server-side language, which means that the code runs on the server, before the page renders. This allows a developer to programmatically control the content displayed to the end user; this concept is the backbone of all Content Management Systems.

MySQL

MySQL

MySQL is a hugely popular, Open Source relational database management system (RDBMS) based on Structured Query Language (SQL). MySQL provides the backbone for many dynamically driver websites. By utilizing the powerful features of MySQL, developers can create advanced and powerful databases.

jQuery

Javascript and jQuery

Javascript is the most popular client-side web programming language, and jQuery is the most popular Javascript framework. By using this language, developers are able to create aesthetically pleasing animations like sliding, scrolling, fading, etc.

AJAX

AJAX

AJAX stands for Asynchronous Javascript and XML. Rather than being a programming language, AJAX is a clever way of using various other languages to send data to, and retrieve data from a server without affecting the existing page. Ultimately, this allows the developer to manipulate specific areas of a webpage without reloading the entire page.

Magento

Magento

Magento is one of the leading Open Source e-commerce platforms. For any websites that will be primarily e-commerce, BrokenBungee recommends the use of Magento as the sole platform.

Drupal

Drupal

Drupal is a powerful Open Source Content Management System that powers many large and popular websites. Drupal is highly customizable, and is our go-to choice for content-based websites.

Yii

Yii

Yii is a relatively new PHP framework that is quickly gaining support throughout the community thanks to it's powerful feature set, lightning fast performance, and enterprise class security. At BrokenBungee, Yii is the framework we use for small-scale websites and all of our Custom Web Applications.

Zend

Zend

Zend is one of the most trusted and powerful PHP frameworks out there. While Zend has a huge support base and rich feature set, as a framework, it doesn't fit our requirements. However, Zend has many features that we find useful, and, as such, we incorporate some of it into our websites. For example, the search engine for this site is based on the Zend Lucene engine!
